An FCE is aimed at evaluating the impact of disease, injury or disability on an individual’s functional capacity for work, their participation in activities of daily living and leisure activities.
The WorkWell and ErgoScience FCE protocols we use, are internationally recognised standards for FCEs, and are used with great success in South Africa, the US, Canada and the UK.
An FCE determines an individual’s capacity for work and it can be used to establish whether an individual is able to return to work, as well as establish the potential for improvement in function through rehabilitation.
In addition, an FCE is used to establish an individual’s pain, suffering and loss of amenities of life; to report on their full functional capacity and future vocational ability, post the onset of disease, accident or injury. We also use it to determine if social circumstances were permanently affected, as a result of the disease or injuries sustained.
